This week is Construction Safety Week, and here at Alcorn, we take pride in our commitment to job safety. Every action affects the next, so everyone must understand the “why” behind the plan and follow it precisely. The team is our strength, and the plan is what keeps us aligned. By knowing the risks and sticking to the details, we prevent injuries and protect each other. The plan is more than a guide—it’s our key to working safely and staying united.

We provide safety and stability through rigorous training that Superintendents and Project Managers attend. All Alcorn Superintendents are OSHA 30-hour certified and given authority to stop work on any project if someone’s safety is in question. Additionally, they perform regular site safety walks to make sure all workers are doing their jobs safely. All Alcorn Project Managers are OSHA 10-hour certified and review their projects for safety every time they are on site. Along with the training and certifications, Alcorn also sets guidelines for every project:

  • Projects are kept clean and free of debris
  • Safety consultant firm, SFI Compliance, performs regular third-party site review, training, and in-depth knowledge when complex situations arise
  • Every OAC meeting starts with a discussion on site safety and security
  • Job Hazard Analyses are performed for all hazardous situations and for work around the public
  • Every project has a written emergency response plan

At Alcorn, safety isn’t just a priority, it’s a core value. Through training, accountability, and a shared commitment to doing things the right way, we create job sites where everyone goes home safely. This Construction Safety Week, we are reaffirming our dedication to protecting one another and building a culture where safety leads the way on every project, every day.
